Scopionflies

I am from NE Ohio, and we have a diverse array of wildlife here. I spend my time outside taking photographs and studying conservation/entomology. I am very fascinated by Scorpionflies. Scorpionflies are one of those insects that make people go "EWW what is that?!?!?" or immediately kill them.

Despite their appearance, they are completely harmless. How could something so fragile, tiny, and harmless be the target of so much hate? I think all insects are misunderstood, and their importance is underestimated. The majority of insects either pollinate or they help as major food sources for other important animals.

Insects are animals themselves! When you really get down on their level, you start to see that they are not as scary or dangerous as you thought. They shouldnt be sentenced to death for existing, they are the same as every other animal and you and I. This world is so beautiful and I wish more people took the time to see it in full.
