Lions
A few years ago for my birthday, I was lucky enough to go to Monarto zoo, the largest open safari park in the world outside of Africa. It had huge open spaces for the animals to thrive each to their own. Giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, rhinos, you name it. It’s a zoo that specialises in conservation.
I experienced the lions 360 experience. In a nutshell, you’re the one in the spherical cage, and the lions surround you. I was able to feed the lionesses with tongs through the bars. Watching them stalk over to you for food was ever so intriguing. One lioness let out a short roar, not even half of her effort, and it shook my chest. It frightens you. But it also reminds you of the beauty and power of these animals. And in dire times, they need our protection so they can continue to roam this planet just like us.
